The Point of Selve located in the VAr: " Point of Selve, points in the Mediterranean, with approximately seven miles with the west-north-west of the Cape de Créaux, which gives connoissance of it. But one can see the entry, unless to be very close to the ground, and the side of in the east. This point is of average height, chopped white spots; and appears by through mountain. The roads of Selve are rather large so that the vessels and the galères can there wet in the need; especially when one comes from the east and that one cannot double the course of Créaux. These roads are a large sand handle, in the content of which, on the side of the east, there are an small island punt and several stores of fishermen; in front of which one can wet with galères and other buildings, having an iron at sea towards the North-West and a mooring rope with ground towards the stores, or one is by three to four water pitch-stirrers, melts of muddy grass. The vessels can wet about the middle of the roads with six, seven and eight pitch-stirrers of water, melts of fine sand. In the content of this beach there is a small pond of fresh water and close to the stores some wells, whose water is rather good. The cross bar is the wind of north-north-east, which gives right in the mouth; but when one is close to the stores, to three pitch-stirrers of water, one is with cover of almost all the winds the broad one.

The inhabitants of the place say, that in this port, there is to fear that the wind of the North-West, though it comes on the side of the ground; because as it passes over an high mountain, it is more violent and blows by gusts and rized. Thus as there is only this wind which is dangerous, it is necessary, to guarantee themselves, mlouiller more close to the coast of the west that other, and to carry good mooring ropes of it to ground on the same side. it is nevertheless constant that this place is clean only in one need, still is necessary it to take guard not to be not surprised. One paeut also to wet by all the medium, to be in state, according to the wind which can occur, to carry a mooring rope to ground on the side or other. Close to the point on the left, while entering to twenty five or thirty measuring apparatus towards south-west, there are some rocks under the water, on which one has that two pitch-stirrers of eau."
