Pohang Steelers (in Korean: 포항스틸러스) was founded in 1983, based in the town of Pohang. Founding member of the K-League, previously known under the name of POSCO (1983), POSCO Dolphins (1984), POSCO Atoms (1985) and Pohang Atoms (1995) before adopting its final name in 1997.
