Poetic meditations

the Meditations , beginning of Lamartine in poetry, beginning of the romantic Poetry in the French Literature, had a splendid success. After poetry sensual, dry and conventional of the last traditional S, one surprised and was charmed to hear a poet who dared moved and sincere being, of which melancholy, gently elegiac, was not less strong and deep. The form of the Meditations , often soft and fluid, reached, when it is supported by a major feeling, strongest and more suave harmony.

This collection contains poems made up between 1815 and 1820, of which most famous are: the Lake , Insulation , the Evening , the Small valley , the Gulf of Baïa and the Fall .
