Pluherlin

Pluherlin is a common French, located in the department of the Morbihan and the area Brittany.

Geography

ETYMOLOGY and HISTORY of PLUHERLIN Pluherlin comes from Plou (parish) and from Hernim , monk having immigrant in Armorique at the 6th century. Pluherlin, primitive parish, are mentioned as of 833 in the cartulaire of the abbey of Redon under the name of Plebs Huiernim or Hoiernin . It is learned there that certain Rethwalart, patient and “the end of the world approaching”, give to the monks of the abbey of Redon a property. As of the 9th century and the 10th century, the history of Pluherlin mingles with that with Rochefort. Pluherlin is set up in commune in 1790 and sees its territory amputee of its trève Rochefort in 1802.

Inheritance of Pluherlin

  • the church Saint-Gentien (1902), restored starting from the plans carried out by the architect Mr. Leray de Redon. Work spreads out of 1886 to 1902. The building with the shape of a Latin cross. In 1930, the stained glasses are restored by Mr. Rault, painter and glass maker in Rennes;
  • the vault Our-Lady-of-the-Bars (15th century), located at the locality Ford-of-the-Bars and built by the lords of Rieux-Rochefort. Robert and Ysabeau de Talhouët deal with the restoration of the building at the 16th century and make engrave their weapons on the lintel of bay in North. It is annexed in 1751 with collegial of Rochefort. Of rectangular form, it is enlightened only by three small bays;
  • the vault Our-Lady-of-Good-Comfort (- 19th century), located at the locality Our-Lady-of-Good-Comfort and refitted at the 19th century. It is about a 12,70 meters length rectangular building on 7,80 meters broad. It has blazing windows and doors and a swimming pool with accodance. The granite pinnacle goes back to 1906. Christ in cross, out of wood polychrome and affixed on the Northern wall, dates from the 14th century;
  • the vault Our-Lady-of-Cartudo (17th century). It is about a vault frairiale. The Western porch is surmounted by a granite pinnacle;
  • the cross of the cemetery;
  • the cross of the well, located place of the church. It is about a cross monolith with a polygonal barrel;
  • the cross of the Bridge of the church (1843 and 1930). The pedestal located on the granite base is added in 1930;
  • the martyrdom says Croix of the Mound (- 20th century), located street of the Martyrdom. It is built in 1821 and is altered in 1903 and 1941. A staircase leads to the cross;
  • the castle of Talhouët (- S), cradle of the Talhouët family (mentioned in the middle of the 14th century). Property of Jehan Talhouët in 1427, Jamet Talhouët in 1464 and Jehan Talhouët in 1481. Following the marriage of Isabeau de Talhouët, in 1531, it becomes property of the family Of Club-footed (of the City-Pelotte). To note that the field is always mentioned as being the property of Isabeau de Talhouët in 1536. A first residence existed, seems there, already at the 14th century. In 1579, Alain Of Club-footed, married to Briande of the Vault, rider and captain of the Viscount of Rohan makes build the castle. This castle is increased at the 17th century, by their Henry son. Successive property of the families Rado de Courson, Huchet of Bédoyère, Juchault de Lorme and Quénétain. In 1814, the castle passes between the hands of the countess of Danne which increases it at the 19th century by building the projecting house in the West. It has a vault, dedicated to Jean saint, who dates like the castle from the 17th century;
  • the castle of Gournava (1895), built by the marquis de Béru;
  • the old castle of Kerfériou;
  • the manor of Boisbréhan. Sit of an old seigniory having belonged successively to the families Mordant, Carné and Meignan. It formerly had a private vault dedicated to Holy-Anne;
  • the manor of Carcado;
  • the fountain (1776) of Cartudo;
  • the barn of Grée Mahé;
  • the house (17th century), located place of the Well;
  • the water mill of Boisbréhan.

  • the discovery of more than 50 statuettes of Venus and Junon;
  • the site of Brambien, with more than 2000 menhirs and dolmens (Neolithic time);
  • the menhir (5 meters height, 6 meters of circumference) located on the moor of Lanvaux;
  • the discovery of axes of bronze, tombelles and underground artificial;
  • a temple or fanum located at Grée Mahé;
  • Of the villa Gallo-Roman (inter alia in a field named Méteno (in the south of the borough), at City-Julo and the village of Grée-Mahé).
