Plone is a Management system of free contents Web published according to the terms of GNU LPG. It is built above the waiter of applications Zope and its extension CMF (Content Framework Management).

Plone is entirely object and modular. It makes it possible to create and manage easily the aspects of a Web site, like the users, the “workflows” or the documents attachables.

The fact that Plone is programmed on Zope makes that it is used less than of others management systems of contents, Zope being known for its rather slow learning curve (famous ZopeZen). However, Plone is regarded as being one of the best existing CMS open-source, and is used inter alia by the Web site of the FSF, the Fondation for the free software.
