Ploëzal

Ploëzal is a common department of the Coast-with Armor, in the area Brittany, in France.

Geography

Castle of the Rock-Jagu, 15th century, continuously restored and embellished since 1968, by its owner, the General advice of Coast-in Armor. It is about a high cultural place of the department, recognized beyond the Breton area. the Castle and its park accommodate every year of the exposures and the cultural events.

François Goff, owner farmer in Ploëzal, Mayor of Ploëzal during 39 years, knight of the Legion of honor, born 30 Nivôse Year II in Ploëzal, deceased the August 29th 1879 with Ploëzal. " Elected in 1827 with the scarf of mayor on the recommendations of Yves Pasquiou (outgoing mayor), it then began the longest mandate of the history of the village. After having lent political oath to the prefect (this oath was: " I swear fidelity with the King of the French, obedience to the constitutional Charter and the laws of Royaume"), it dealt with its new functions. Very respected, he thus escaped gangsters who let it set out again when they recognized it. Giver for the restoration of the church of Ploëzal, it had many properties. Thus it sold the old presbytery of the village in Auguste Henry and to the vice-chancellor of the time, the Henry abbot (the presbytery was transformed into a private school existing still today under the name of Saint Joseph). Maintained in its functions of mayor to the advent of the Second Empire, it had to re-examine its oath and to swear " obedience with the Constitution and fidelity in Empereur". Developing the village, it ends up resigning in April 1866 with this reason: " exhaustion of all my facultés". These 39 years of wise administration were worth to him the cross of the Legion of honneur."
