Pliska
Pliska (in Bulgarian: Плиска ) is the name of the capital first of Bulgaria between 681 and 893.
The old capital, after its disappearance, left the place, during several centuries, at a village named Aboba . However, after excavations having put at the day of important vestiges, followed archaeological research come to confirm the assumption of the localization of the old capital, the village was famous Pliska .
To note that if, by its current population, Pliska with the size of what would be considered, in many countries, like a village, it has the statute of Ville (in bulgare : град) in the Bulgarian nomenclature.
Pliska, which is attached to the obchtina of Kaspitchan, in the oblast of Choumen, is located at approximately 90 km of the port city of Varna and 5 km in the North-West of Kaspitchan, chief town of the municipality. In addition, it is with 5 km in the west of Novi pazar, chief town of the municipality close to the same name, and with approximately 22 km in the North-East of Choumen, chief town of the oblast.
