Plexus brachial
The plexus brachial includes/understands the whole of the nervous Fibers coming from the roots former of the spinaux Nerfs C5 to C8 and of first thoracic nerve T1. The latter leave the cervical rachis by the intervertebral foramen (holes of conjugation). The plexus brachial is mainly intended for innerver the upper limbs as well on the driving level as sensitive.
The nervous roots are organized in trunks and walk on with the inféro-side part of the neck, between the scalene ones (procession of scalene). One distinguishes the trunk higher compound from C5 and C6 (collateral: dorsal nerve of the scapula and long thoracic nerve), the trunk average compound of C7 and the trunk lower compound of C8 and T1.
Behind of the Clavicle, the trunks reorganize in beams. Side beam: higher trunks and means (collateral: nerve of the Large pectoral side). Posterior beam: higher, average and lower trunk (collateral: nerves of the supra-thorn-bush, the subscapulaire, the large round and large dorsal). Beam médial: tron lower (collateral: pectoral nerve médial).
The plexus brachial gives 7 terminal sections:
- the Nerve Axillaire or Circumflexe (beams posterior),
- the Radial Nerve (posterior beam),
- the Nerve Musculocutané (side beam),
- the Ulnar or Cubital Nerve (beam médial),
- the Median Nerve (beams side and médial),
- the Cutaneous nerve Medial of the arm and the front armlever or Brachial Cutané Interns and the Accessoire nerve of Brachial Cutané Interns,
- Side the Cutané nerve.
NB: There exist anatomical variations of the plexus brachial: the C4 root can belong to the plexus. In this case, the plexus will be consisted of the C4 roots in C8. The T2 nerve can also take part in the plexus, and, in this case, the plexus will include/understand the C6 roots with C8 and the nerves thoracic T1 and T2. Example: Daniel Mangeolle of the Vosges with a paralysis of the left upper limb. http://88dani88.blogspot.com/
