Plethysmography

The Pléthysmographie is a whole of methods being used to measure the blood flood. The word comes from the Greek plethysmo meaning increase. The technique consists in measuring the increase in blood volume, at the time of the occlusion of the venous return.

The plethysmography is used in Médecine of course, but also for the manufacture of Cardiofréquencemètre S without sensor of chest (which uses an electrocardiographic method traditionally): the pulsations are measured by photoelectric plethysmography, a lighting sensor the arteries of the wrist where it is fixed.
