This subfamily was created by John Edward Gray (1800-1875) in 1850.
It gathers many kinds of Amphibien S located in a vast zone in America, extreme south of the Alaska of the Nova Scotia (Canada) in the east of the Brésil and center of the Bolivia, like in the south of the Europe.
