Plessala

Plessala is a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Armor and the area Brittany.

The inhabitants are called the Plessaliens and the Plessaliennes .

Geography

History

The research carried out in 1912 and 1913 by the abbot J. Texier in the sector of Hautière put at the day of the remainders of objects of the Gallo-Roman Time (3rd century) in this sector of the common .

It is into 1255 that the name of Plessala appears with the title of Paroisse in the charters of the abbey of Boquel. The current C-W communication of Plessala exists since 1274. The name is resulting from the words ploe (Paroisse in Breton) and Sula (a Breton Saint).

At the beginning of 1790, Plessala elects its first Municipalité and becomes thus a commune.

For the revolutionary period, the common one knew several painful episodes:

- On December 1st, 1794, a band of Chouans removed sixty rifles of the common house and cut the tree of freedom.

- On July 19th, 1795, of the Chouans invaded the houses of the Veillet notary, mayor, and of his assistant. They burned the public records and private there.

- On June 4th, 1796 four refractories of Saint-Brieuc had passed by the weapons in the borough of Plessala.

The moor known as " Forest of Moncontour " who formed an enclave between Plémy, Langast, Plessala, Saint-Gouéno, Trébry and Trédaniel was joined together with the commune of Plessala by an order of the prefect of June 3rd, 1809.

According to an ordinance of January 3rd, 1828, the commune of Plessala yielded two fractions to Saint-Gouéno (the village of Kerfiac and villages of Kermené) and two other fractions with Saint-Gilles-of-Carried out (the village of the Key and villages of Bellevue and of the Ditches).
