Pleistarchos (Macedonia)
Pleistarchos (in Greek old Πλείσταρχος / Pleístarkhos , literally “large commander”) is a Général Macedonian of the end of fourth century BC
He is the son of Antipater and the brother of Cassandre. He is with the service of this last at the time of the Guerres of diadoques the. In 302 av. J. - C., it directs a forwarding of help sent by Cassandre to Lysimaque in minor Asia, because this last is in difficulty vis-a-vis Antigone One-eyed the and Démétrios I {{er}} Poliorcète. But it is overcome by Démétrios and joined Lysimaque with the remains of its army. It then accompanies Lysimaque with Héraclée by the Bridge (winter 302 - 301 av. J. - C.) and takes part in the Bataille of Ipsos. At the time of the division of the empire of Antigone, a principality is created in Cilicie and is entrusted to Pleistarchos.
In 299 av. J. - C., Démétrios invades Cilicie and Pleistarchos takes refuge at Cassandre. The sister of Cassandre and Pleistarchos, Philæ, is sent by Démétrios (which is her husband), near her brothers in order to support her claims. It seems that Démétrios makes the promise more nothing to undertake in Greece against Cassandre and that this one in exchange does not carry help to his/her brother who indeed does not play any more a big role thereafter.
