Plebiscites under Napoleon III

Napoleon III, Empereur of French imposed by the Coup d'etat of 1851 frequently makes Plébiscite S formulated well so that French people confirm the position of the Emperor vis-a-vis the members of Parliament and to the opposition.

List and results of the plebiscites

Plebiscite of May 8th, 1870 , approves the liberalization of the Empire:
  • 7,35 million " Oui".
  • 1,9 million abstensions.
  • 1,57 million " Non".
