Pleasure (Yvelines)
Plaisir is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.
The inhabitants are the Plaisirois .
Geography
Situation
Pleasure is located in the western outer suburbs of Paris, to about thirty kilometers of the Porte of Auteuil and to 13 km in the west of Versailles.Half of the communal territory make up of Forêt S and arable lands.
The commune consists of several hamlets distributed on two separated plates , of is in west, by the national forest of Wood of Arcy and its western end known as wood of Cranium, the park of the castle of Pleasure and the Forêt of Holy-Apolline:
On the highest plate, in the south of the communal territory and the north of an extent called Flat of Neauphle crossed by RN 12, are the hamlet of the Pond-with-Willows being next to Élancourt and the hamlet of Holy-Apolline, both in the south of this main road, and the hamlets of Gâtines, the Bush and the Chain, all three aligned of is in west in the north of the aforesaid the nationale.
On the lower plate, in the north of the commune, are the old village, surrounded, of is in west, of the districts or hamlets of Brétechelle, the Aqueduct of Avre, Ébisoires, the Small-Meadows and the relatively populated variation of Boissière.
Hydrography
The commune is crossed south in north by the Ru Maldroit which takes its source with Trappes, crosses the plain of Neauphle, passes at the end is hamlet of Gâtines, supplies the basin of the wood of Cranium, crosses the park of the castle, the old village and the Small-Meadows, curves in a small valley between Thiverval and Saint-Germain-of-the-Barn and is thrown in the Mauldre with Beynes.

Transportation routes and transport
By the road, the commune is served by RN 12 (Paris - Brest), via Dreux (with highway characteristics). It is crossed in a North-South axis by the road secondary 30 which connects Poissy and Feucherolles to north with the locality of the Gâtines and prolonged in the south towards Élancourt and Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines by the secondary road 58. In the East-West axis, Plaisir is crossed by the secondary road 11 which leads to Clayes-under-Wood and Saint-Cyr-the School towards the east and with Neauphle-the-Castle towards the west.The commune is served by two lines the SNCF: Paris-Montparnasse/Mantes-the-Pretty and Paris-Montparnasse/Dreux and by two stations: the Station of Pleasure - Oil cake located at the North-West of the commune and that of Pleasure - Clayes, in the North-East. The semi-direct trains of Pleasure Oil cake make it possible to join Paris in 25 minutes.
Ensured by the Hourtoule company based Plaisir, twelve lines of bus connect the various districts but also of other communes of the department: Beynes, Boulogne-Billancourt, Mantes-the-Pretty, Poissy, Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines, Thoiry, Versailles…
Last nine special circuits of school bus service by bus allow the daily transport of the pupils on the commune.
The City intramurally ensures an individual transport for the people handicapped in the vehicle adapted for the price of a ticket of bus.
History
The origin of the name of the commune would come owing to the fact that Gaston of Orleans, Mister the brother of the King Louis XIV, came to take its pleasures there. It could derive from the Latin placicium , it likes, or of plescicium , fortified town.
- the site was inhabited as of prehistory.
- the grounds become the property of the Abbaye of Saint-Denis into 768.
- Plaisir is attached to the Baronnie Neauphle-the-Castle.
- the territory enters the royal Domaine by the marriage of François I {{er}} with Claude of France. In 1537, it had the stronghold of Neauphle-the-Castle-Pleasure in favor of its mistress, Anne de Pisseleu. The last lord of Pleasure was Louis Hercules Timoléon of Thimble-Brissac, ordering guard of Louis XVI.
- At the end of the XVIIIe century, the population counts approximately a thousand of inhabitants on 7 hamlets: Bretéchelle, Boissière, the Bush, the Chain, the Village, the Small-Meadows and Gâtines
- In 1862, the railroad appears in Plaisir as well as a deposit of begging. This one will be transformed quickly into departmental asylum for all the Seine-et-Oise, " the Smallones; , then in hospital gerontolic and medico-social. The city accommodates one 2nd psychiatric hospital, Charcot.
- As from the years 1960, Plaisir undergoes an explosion of the urbanization. A time attached to Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines, it will leave the new city in 1983 by yielding the Key-Saint-Pierre to Élancourt and Trappes.
- Since the years 2000, the City wishes to stabilize its urbanization.
Demography
Pleasure is the 7th commune of Yvelines by its population estimated at approximately 32.000 inhabitants at the time of the censuses since 2004. The plaisirois constitute a young and active population: 30% of its inhabitants have less than 19 years and its unemployment rate is only of 8.2% with more than 50% of credits.
