Plays of the Francophonie
The Jeux of the Francophonie are a Compétition multisports and contests Culture ls in individual tests or by teams.
Objectives
The deed of partnership of the Plays of the Francophonie defines its objectives as being:
- “to highlight the worldwide of the Francophonie and to ensure them of the repercussions of any kind;
- to allow the bringing together of the countries having jointly the use of French;
- to make known the originality of the French-speaking culture, as much in its homogeneity that in its diversity and to develop the cultural exchanges and artistic between the French-speaking countries;
- to contribute to the preparation of the French-speaking sporting changing for the future sporting great events;
- to constitute a factor of dynamization of the youth and in particular of the women of the countries having French in division, while taking part in the development of the cultural activities and sporting of these countries and while contributing to the international solidarity;
- to contribute to the promotion of the French language. ”, Organizing Committee of the Plays of the Francophonie, 2004.
History
It is at the time of the second Sommet of the Francophonie which was held with Quebec in 1987 that it was decided to create the Plays of the Francophonie. The mission of the installation of these Plays was entrusted to the Conference Ministers for Youth and Sports of the countries of French expression (CONFEJES). The first edition was held in 1989 in two Moroccan cities: Casablanca and Reduction.
Principle
The Plays of the Francophonie are organized every 4 years, they put at the catches the representatives Member States of the Francophonie.
