Playback

The playback consists in making pretense of Chant er or to play of the Musique with the assistance of a sound recording (“band its”).

It is about a technique especially used by the singers, at the time them concerts, to avoid the unforeseen ones or to make it possible to carry out unrealizable movements while singing (Chorégraphie S in particular).

With the Television, the “ varieties” (i.e. musical sequences, whatever is the kind) are almost always carried out in playback (PBC or PBO). When it is not the case, one speaks about “ Live ”.

PBC and PBO

There exist two forms of playback:
  • the playback orchestrates (PBO): the orchestra is in playback, but the singer really sings (principle of the Karaoké);
  • complete playback (PBC): the orchestra and the singer are in playback.
