Play of the shepherd

is a Board game derived from the traditional play of the Mourre. It was published in 1978 by the editor Jeux Robert Laffont.

For 2 to 4 players, as from 10 years for approximately 10 minutes.

General principle

Each player decides if it will launch his green ball (1 point), his red ball (2 points) or its blue ball (3 points). At the same time it must bet on the total of all the balls released by the other players.

The balls are simultaneously revealed by raising the mask in front of each player. The charts bets which had been posed hidden side are then turned over.

The principal interest of the play lies in the material provided which makes it possible on the one hand to play mourre with more than two players, on the other hand to avoid all the nuisances - voluntary cheating or light delay of a player - dependant on the simultaneous play. The play is surer and just than the mourre, but perhaps also a little colder and a little less convivial.
