the Play of the 1000 euros is a radio broadcast and the oldest play of the French radiophonic landscape. Before the passage to the Euro, he was baptized the Play of the 1000 francs .

History

Created of 1958 by Henri Kubnick, diffused on Paris Inter then France Inter, the play consists of series of questions cultural posed with two candidates, in order to make them gain up to 100.000 francs at the time of the old francs, which became then 1000 francs, 5000 francs, then 1000 euros.

At the beginning of the play, it is the organizer itself, Henri Kubnick, who prepared the questions. But following the sending of the questions by the listeners, it was decided that the questions would be provided only by the listeners themselves. The questions were thus divided into several categories, the questions blue, white, and red, corresponding to levels of difficulty of easiest to most difficult.

Several organizers will follow one another, Maurice Gardett, Albert Raisner, Pierre Rouzic, Roger Lanzac, Lucien Jeunesse and currently Louis Bozon.

It is renamed the September 24th 2001 the Play of the Thousand Euros following the replacement of the franc by the Euro.

The emission moves all the year in tens of French small towns, at least one per week.

The emission will celebrate its fiftieth birthday in April 2008, it remains always the radio broadcast most listened with 12:45.

Course of the play

The play proceeds in several stages.

First of all, the organizer announces the emission under the applause of the public. The organizer makes a presentation of the commune, of its identity, before introducing the candidates.

Blue, white and red questions

Then, the candidates must answer six questions which they drew with the fate: three blue, two white, then a red. If the questions are sent by the listeners, it is the production line team of the emission which carries out the classification of the levels of difficulty.

They can propose several answers to each question in a time limited to 30 seconds that an assistant wires for sound while striking small a Métallophone with four blades.

If the candidates do not answer all, the leader of play their rests those remained without answer for which they can still give an answer in a time limited to fifteen seconds for each question, by not having right this time to only one answer.

Once all the put questions, three cases can arise:

  • If the candidates answered correctly only four questions or less, they leave the play with their possible profits.
  • If they fell only on only one question, they can try to answer a question of fishing out which is a question often rather easy with three answers suggested, it is the only question of the play which is not posed by a listener. In the event of failure, the candidates keep their preceding profits and, in the event of success, they are obliged to try the Banco .
  • If they answered the six questions correctly, they can try the Banco .

The Banco and the Super Bank value

Before the question Banco , the public stresses ritually “banco, banco! ”. The candidates can refuse to try it and leave the play with their profits, that is to say currently 150 €. The question Banco is a question considered to be difficult and classified in a specific category by the production.

The candidates then have right only to only one answer for this question but can act in concert between them and are entitled to deadline a one minute.

In the event of correct answer, they gain a sum of 400 €, to divide itself. In the event of failure with the Banco , the candidates lose all their profits and currently set out again with simple a transistor.

The candidates having answered the Banco correctly can however try the Super Bank value . The public encourages them while stressing “super, super! ”. The methods of the Super-Bank value are the same ones as for the Bank value, but is drawn with the fate among the most difficult questions put by the listeners.

In the event of success they gain 1  000 €, to divide itself. In the event of failure, it set out again nevertheless with a “premium of sportivity” of an amount of 100 €.

Profits

For the blue questions, white and red, the amount of the profits is identical for the candidate team, in the event of correct answer, and for the listener having put the question, if it did not receive an exact answer. It are currently defined as follows:
