Platille
A platille is a ustensil of Repassage linen, terra cotta or metal, in the convex shape of disc assembled on feet (generally three), from approximately 30 to 50 cm. of diameter, being used for tightening and smoothing the still wet linen. The platille, before use, is heated on embers.
In France, this ustensil was also called platelle , platinum and platene (Brittany). It was manufactured, in particular, by the potters of Herbignac (Loire-Atlantique).
