Platanaceae

The family of the Platanacées is a family of plants Dicotylédone S including/understanding 10 Espèce S of the kind Platanus .

They are large trees, with null and void sheets, moderate zones of North America, South-east of the Europe and the Far East.

The plane trees are often planted downtown, those met in France are hybrids between the plane tree of the Balkans ( Platanus orientalis ) and the American plane tree ( Platanus occidentalis ). They are threatened by a cryptogamic disease: the coloured canker.

The phylogenetic classification of APG (1998) place this family in the order of the Proteales . In Classification APG II (2003) this family is optional: the plants can be inclueses in Proteacées.
