Plasturgie
The plasturgie is the processing industry of the plastics.
History
The plasturgie is a relatively new industry if one compares it with other industries such as the iron and steel industry.
Very with started in 1870 following a contest aiming to replaced the ivory, more and more expensive, of the balls of billiard. It is the Hyatt brother who by using the Nitrate of cellulose contributed to the birth of the plasturgie.
Since 1930, the American and German laboratories start to create new matters such as the LDC, the PC… .
The great adaptability (lightness, solidity, deformability, facility of cleaning) of the plastics in many fields contributed to the development of this industry in second half of the XXe century. This one was based initially on the exploitation of the derivative products of oil. Currently, the research and the development in this branch turn to other sources of raw material like corn or colza. Research is also developed in direction of a better respect of the environment (biodeterioration).
Techniques
One can distinguish two types of plastic:- Thermoplastic S
- Thermohardening S
The first cities are usually transformed by the following processes:
-
injection
- Injection-blowing
- Extrusion
- shaped Extrusion
- Extrusion-inflation
- Extrusion-blowing
- Calendering
- Rotomoulage
- Thermoforming
The principal processes of transformation of the Thermodurcissable S are the following
- Compression
- Pultrusion
- Stratification
- Chaudronnerie
Spheres of activity
Packing, BTP, car
-
In Europe, the plastic is the first materials used for packing with like first customer the agroalimentary sector (65% of the outlets in Europe). Packing accounts for 35% of the outlets of the plasturgie. France is leader in front of Germany.
-
the BTP, second market of the plasturgie, accounts for 20% of the outlets. This market is in constant progression because from here 2010 it should increase by 33%.
-
the car accounts for 10% of the outlets of the plasturgie. Since 1985, the weight of the plastics in a vehicle with triplet. France and Germany are leader on this market.
Medicine, sports and leisures
The European industry of the plasturgie must unceasingly show innovation. Thus, in the medical field, the plastics using the composition of certain prostheses are definitely more powerful than other materials.
The plasturgie in Europe
In 2002, the industry of the European plasturgie carried out a turnover of 140 billion Euros. Two thirds of the outlets are consisted packing, the building and the car.
Currently, Europe is with the second world rank for the production of plastics right behind the United States.
The plasturgie in France
On a world level, France is located at the fifth rank for the production of the plastic, both first being theplain one and Japan.
At the level European, France is located at the second rank right behind Germany. France occupies the second Européen rank today, with two major poles, the first located at Oyonnax in Ain with the Pole European of Plasturgie and the Plastics valley, and the second in Alsace-Lorraine with the Pole of Plasturgie of the East.
The sales turnover for 2006 is of 29,6 billion euros for 5,3 million transformed tons. The number of companies Frenchwoman in the sector is of 3750 for a manpower of 151.800 employees
Trades
The multiplicity of the techniques of manufacture claims of the personnel in multiple competences. The plasturgie recruits personnel of the CAPE level to the diploma for the occupation of engineers. The intermediate formations are the professional vat plasturgie, the BTS Europlastique and professional license pi (Industrial production).
