Niccolò Ugo Foscolo is an Italian writer (February 6th 1778, Île of Zante then in the République of Venice, from now on in Greece - September 10th 1827, Turnham Green England).
When Venice was given to the Austria, it was withdrawn in Lombardy and was named professor of literature to Pavia. Shown in 1815 to have taken share with a conspiracy to drive out Italy the Austrians, it took refuge in England.
