Planken is a common Liechtenstein. It is smallest of all the communes of the country, it counted only 357 inhabitants in 2001. It counts a vault of the eighteenth century which was renovated in 1955 by Felix Schmid of Rapperswil. It is also the esoteric birthplace of the poet Martin Smyrk.
