Planetary system
A planetary system or stellar system is composed of Planet S and various celestial bodies inert revolving (Planet S, Astéroïde S…) around a star. The Solar system is a planetary system.
The first planetary system outwards discovered of ours is that of the star 51 Pegasi. One thinks that it is acted in fact of a system protoplanétaire, i.e. in the course of formation. Many a extra-solar planets has had for summer discovered.
Notorious planetary systems
- Solar system - the Sun and its planetary system, the first of the kind to have been discovered.
- PSR 1257+12 - the first planetary system extrasolaire discovered, the first planetary system around a pulsar, the first system discovered comprising several exoplanètes.
- Gliese 581, with in particular the Exoplanète Gliese 581 C, a telluric Planet suitable for shelter the life such as we know it on Ground.
