Planetary

Planetary is a Comic S American created by Warren Ellis and John Cassaday.

The series is published in the United States at Wildstorm, a label of cd. Comics and currently in France at Panini comics.

Synopsis

Planetary is a special organization, which is defined as “archeologist of strange”, with the research of the mysteries and secrecies of the universe. The series follows closely the adventures of a team of ground of Planetary, made up of 4 members.

More personal than Stormwatch or Authority, Planetary is a truffée series of references and various winks to varied, than it is in Godzilla, the Hong-Kongais action films, JLA, Hulk or the Fantastiques. The first numbers are relatively independent and Planetary resembles the first access with a series of episodes one-shot. But quickly a basic screen with elements and adversaries of size is set up.

Characters

The team of ground of Planetary is made up of:

  • Jakita Wagner , strong woman (of character and physically). Driving posted of the team, it does not have its language in its pocket and has a superhuman force and athletic capacities.

  • the beater , mixture of geek, hippie and fan of rock'n'roll. It has a rather strange capacity of communication with the machines.

  • Elijah Snow , coldly recruited at the commencement of the series. As its name indicates it has a thermal capacity. Always vêtu of white, it is like Jenny Sparks of Authority born on January 1st, 1900. Mysterious and ambiguous character, it will take an increasing importance in the orientation of Planetary.

Planetary is financed by the mysterious 4th man of which nobody knows the identity.

The name of the comics, Planetary , is undoubtedly a reference to the famous French review Planet , created in the Sixties by Jacques Bergier and Louis Pauwels, and which was interested in particular in the Occultisme, with the Ufologie - in short with strange in general - topics precisely constituting the influence first mythology of these comics. Indeed, one learns in the second tome cheese from the cartoon that Planetary is also the name of a guide published annually and confidentially by the organization, counting his discoveries.
