History

Association Planet Sciences was created in 1962, initially under the name of ANCS (National association of the Space Clubs).

It then took the name of ANSTJ (National association Technical Sciences Youth) until in 2002, before becoming Planet Sciences .

A twin association, Planeta Ciencias , was born in Spain, taking again the statutes by adapting them to the Spanish law. ()

Principal demonstrations

  • in March and February: Regional trophies of robotics, then final;

  • in May: Coupe de France of robotics followed Cut of Europe;
  • in July: stays of holidays, national campaign of launching of stratospheric balloons and fused experimental;
  • in August: Co-organization of the Nights of the stars (with the French Association of astronomy).

Trophies of robotics

The Trophées of Robotics constitute a ludic and technological challenge. These challenges exist in France since 1993. In 2006 took place in Belgium the first European meeting.

This contest is addressed to the young people from 8 to 18 years in elementary schools, colleges, colleges (until the final one), recreational centres, clubs, etc the young people must build a wire-guided robot.

The teams will take part in a regional meeting then the 60 selected teams will take part in the French national final with foreign guests. The payment of the competition changes each year at the same time to give all the chances to the new teams and to stimulate those which already took part. But certain points remain constant. Indeed, the young people must develop a robot and its control device (electric connection) allowing to make some 90 seconds meetings. The robots have a limited size and they often evolve/move on an adventure playground " accidentée" of 2m X 3m.

These challenges, organized by Planet Sciences at the French level, are organized by Eurobot at the European level. 70 voluntary takes part in the organization of the finale.
