Plain of Sands
The Plaine of Sands is a plate of the High of the island of the Réunion which one must cross to reach the Enclos Fouqué then the Piton of the Furnace since the Plaine of the Kaffirs.
Completely naked, glaze of Slag S, it is suddenly offered to the sight of the drivers below an other plate which was still covered with a close-cropped Végétation.
To venture there with foot whereas the Brouillard is likely to fall is particularly dangerous, space around obvious physical reference mark lack. The Plain of Sands is however dominated by the Piton Chisny, whose last eruption is at the origin of its lunar aspect.
It is crossed by the “Road of the Volcano”.
