Plain democrats (Cyprus)

The party of the plain Démocrates (in Greek Ενωμένοι Δημοκρατές - Enoméni Dimokratés) is a Cypriot Political party .

Its leader is Γιώργος Βασιλείου (Yiorgos (Georges) Vassiliou), former Cypriot president (until in 1993) who was, until March 2003, the chief of the Delegation of the negotiations to the accession of Cyprus to the European Union.

Created in December 1996, by the fusion of two free parties the Democratic and Adisok , it is a party member of the European Parti the reforming liberals, democrats and, also member of the group ADLE with the the European Parliament, but without European Député currently.

This party holds a seat with the Room of the Representatives, held by Mrs. Androula Vassiliou which obtained second a five years mandate at the time of the elections of May 2001. He regards himself as centrist.
