The plain National front (in Pashto Shuray-e Mottahed-e Melli ) is a Political party of Afghanistan, founded the November 2nd 2006, by a vast coalition the old ones and current strong men of the country, commanders of Afghan resistance against the Soviet , former Communist leaders and of various social and ethnic groups. Its chief is old the President of Afghanistan Burhanuddin Rabbani. Many of its members formed part of the plain Islamic front formerly - with the name close to that of the new party - (better known under the name of Alliance of North), of which the person in charge of the military branches was the commander Ahmed Chah Massoud.

According to a statement made to the journalists the March 13rd 2007, at the time of the presentation to the press of the program of the new party by its spokesperson, the former minister Commercial of the temporary government Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, the objectives by the various personalities which decided to link their efforts “is to fill the vacuum by the creation of a powerful political party, extremely and having broad sat. ”

The spokesperson of the party Sayed Mustafa Kazemi was assassinated, in company of five other members of Parliament, Tuesday November 6th 2007, in a Attack-suicide perpetrated in the relatively peaceful small town of Baghlân, near Pol-e Khomri, in the North-East of the Afghanistan.
