Plain Church of Canada

The plain Église of Canada (United Church off Canada) is the second Church in importance with the Canada, after the Catholic church. It comprises the largest Protestant population . According to the Census of 2001, there is 2,8 million Canadians who say to belong to this Church and 250.000 people witness her service of Sunday. It is member of the world reformed Alliance.

The plain Church of Canada is described like present everywhere at Canada, although its presence is minimal out of the great urban centres of Quebec.

The plain Church was born from fusion, in 1925, of both larger Protestant denomination in Canada: the Church presbytérienne in Canada, the Church methodist of Canada, and congrégationnelle union of Ontario and Quebec, less demographic, but historically very dominant importance in Protestantism evangelic. Even if Protestantism evangelic has, in political and theological terms, turned to make the conservative right (particuliariement with the the United States), the Plain Church maintained a position very liberal, especially on its sights in connection with the women's rights and of the minorities, like in these relationships to the whole of the Christian Church.
