Placière

A placière was a woman employed with the Tri of the coal on the outlet side of the well of mine, in order to separate coal from the stone.

The trade was practiced until in the years 1950. It was a question of separating the coal of the stone, with the requirement by breaking the blocks with a mass. Coal was transferred onto a vibrating Travelator (" count with secousses"), which allowed also the Séparation different gauges S.
