Place du Vieux-Marché

The place of the Old man-Market , located at the end of the Rue of the Large-Clock is a historical place of Rouen Right Bank.

One finds there several half-timbered houses and/or Encorbellement. It sheltered the church Saint-Saver which was destroyed at the 19th century but whose substructions were given to the day during the restoration of the place. The church Holy-Jeanne-in Arc was built there in 1979. This church with daring and disputed architecture, makes it possible to admire the stained glasses of the old Saint-Vincent church, located in bottom of the street Jeanne d' Arc and destroyed in 1944.

The place is especially known owing to the fact that it is at this place that Jeanne d' Arc was burned alive the May 30th 1431. The Musée Jeanne-with Arc recalls its life there. There is always a Marché with a covered market.
