Place Jacques-Cartier

The place Jacques-Cartier is a place pedestrian (in summer only) of the Old man-Montreal, with Montreal. It leads on the Old man-Port of Montreal in the south, and to the Town hall of Montreal in north.
In hot season, this place has especially a tourist vocation .
History
It was named in honor of Jacques Cartier. Officially arranged during first half of the 19th century, its practice is nevertheless much former.In the center is the monument more discussed Montreal, the Colonne Nelson, installed with the memory of the admiral Horatio Nelson. Going back to 1810, it precedes the statue by London 33 years. For some, it represents the aimings Impérialiste S Britannique S.
