Pléneuf-Valley-Andre

Pléneuf-Valley-Andre is a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Armor and the area Brittany.

It is known like Seaside resort family , located on the east coast of the Baie of Saint-Brieuc, said Côte of Emerald. Its population goes up to more: 16000 inhabitants during the summer.

It is to 25 km in the east of Saint-Brieuc and to 13 km in the north of Lamballe.

The Valley-Andre

The Valley-Andre is the seaside resort itself created at the end of the 19th century by the progressive construction of villas to the length of a beach of 2,5 km; the main street equal length extending to about fifty meters behind from the dam-walk and accessible in its median part of many trade, a casino and a room of Cinema, a large vault (Notre-Dame Vault created by the nuns of Saint-Quay in 1890), of many grounds of Tennis in the park of Admiralty (2 ha), etc

History

  • 1783 - Work of déroctage in the entry of the port of Dahouët;
  • 1844 - Opening of the office of the stations ; a Télégraphe Chappe also functioned in the Cape Tanguy (vis-a-vis Verdelet);
  • 1869 - First Regatta S of Pléneuf on August 22nd (other regattas with Dahouët);
  • 1882 - Creation of the Valley-Andre by the engineer Charles Cotard, collaborator of Ferdinand de Lesseps;
  • 1884 - Construction of the vast boarding house, known as the Community , on the initiative of the congregation of Crowned the Hearts of Jesus and Marie which had acquired the grounds the previous year; this building imposing and perfectly located (point of view and animation) must leave room to a center of thalassotherapy as from 2009.

  • 1931 - Construction of the mole of Piégu (completed in 1933);
  • 1954 - the ground and the manor of the Admiral Charner are acquired by the commune ( current Parc of Admiralty ).

  • 1960 - Inauguration on August 21st of the new town hall established in a small castle of style neogothic builds in 1884 not far from the center of the commune, with the material excess intended for the church and of the granite of the large Island;
