Biography
Domingo has a voice Ténor and sings in Italian, French, German, Spanish, English and Russian. It is one of the most famous Chanteur S of opera of these thirty last years. It made its beginnings with “Traviata” in 1959. It is, since 1996, artistic director of the national Opera of Washington, established in the Kennedy Center, in the American capital. In 1998, it is also named artistic director of the Opera of Los Angeles, then managing director since 2003.
Complete artist, it became also Leader having been an immense success with Carmen for the opening of the World Fair of Seville in 1992. Domingo defended more than 120 different roles to the opera. Its representations remained a true reference thanks to its direction but also with voices like those of Teresa Berganza, Jose Carreras or Jorge Chaminé.
He collaborated in the project “the Three Tenors” with Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti.
He directed the Symphony orchestra of Montreal the November 8th 2005.
