Pixar Animation Studios () is an American company of production of Film S in synthesized images whose head office is located at Emeryville in California. It is especially known for its cartoon films, such Toy Story (1995-1999) and Le Monde de Némo (2003).
Specialized in the Animation by computer, Pixar developed the Logiciel RenderMan ® which is used for the generation of images photorealists. The general President-director of Pixar is Steve Jobs, the cofounder of Apple, which repurchased the services of computer graphics of Lucasfilm in 1986 for 10 million dollars and Pixar baptized it.
In partnership with the Walt Disney Company, Pixar produced eight feature films animation in synthesized images, which met all an immense business success. The January 29th 2004, and after 10 months of negotiation, Pixar broke the negotiations on the prolongation of its contract with the Disney group and announced to be in the search of another studio to distribute its new productions. Cars was to be the last of the Disney/Pixar coproductions.
But the January 24th 2006, studios of Pixar animation, that Steve Jobs holds with 50,6 %, are repurchased by Disney for a value of 7,4 billion USD, for half by an exchange of actions.
The two studios thus will continue their partnership. According to the advertisement made by John Lasseter, new person in charge of Walt Disney Pictures, the Pixar studio will continue to produce a film in synthesized images per annum while Walt Disney Feature Animation will take again the traditional drawing at the same rate/rhythm.
As a sign of relaxation, Disney announced for 2009 the exit of Toy Story 3 under the direction of Lee Unkrich and either of John Lasseter as envisaged initially.
All is planned for the comfort of the employees, who when designing a cartoon film, are often blocked by time. These places of entertainment are also evoked as an oxygen for these originators when they miss ideas, by John Lasseter.
Thus, during the turning of Ratatouille , the employees have Pu to slacken when they missed the inspiration. Indeed, the team of turning had only two years to rewrite the Scénario, to design the characters, and to carry out film. Brad Bird will acknowledge that without these places of relaxation, they would undoubtedly not have finished film in time, by describing them like a resource.
