The Pitt Stadium was a stage located in the district of Oakland of the town of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania at. The stage accommodated during major the part of the 20th century of the matches of American football and the competitions of Athlétisme.

History

Pitt Stadium opens its doors the 1 {{er}} September 1925 after work which will have lasted a little more than one year for a total sum of 2,1 million $ USD. The stage is created in order to accommodate the sporting meetings of the teams of the Université of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Panthers .

In 1933, the Steelers make their beginning in the enclosure of the Forbes Field but the team of the National Football League leaves the ground which they divide with the Pirates, team of Base-ball to settle in Pitt Stadium.

In 1974, the Three Rivers Stadium is built and Steelers change once again residence. They will be imitated by Panthers twenty-five years later. November 13rd, 1999, the stage closes its doors and it east demolishes the next month.

The current site of the stage corresponds to buildings of the university and by the Petersen Events Center, ground of the university.
