Pitch and Putt

The Pitch and Putt is a course of Golf of reduced size. Its surface varies between 5 and 15 hectares. It is intended to the golfeurs of all levels. This type of course was created in 1929 in Ireland to make it possible all social classes to play there. It is the golf of the " Workers ". Less expensive construction and maintenance, it thus makes it possible to play or discover the game with lower costs. The course is done with 3 clubs maximum whose puttor (instead of 14) and outdistances it each hole must be ranging between 40 and 90 meters.

A course Pitch and Putt is composed of 9 or 18 holes of by 3.

It would be however erroneous to regard the Pitch & Putt only as a " course of the pauvre" or like a course intended for the beginners only. Even experienced players can find an advantage to attend regularly a course of the type Pitch & Putt which will enable them to improve their little game, namely the approaches and the putting, whose control is fundamental for whoever wants to play golf well.

In this respect, it is sometimes useful to remind that a putt 50cm, even if it is not very spectacular, the same value on the chart as drive of more than 250 meters (either a blow).
