Pitch-of-Picardy is a common French, located in the department of the Somme and the area Picardy.

Geography

The city is located in the content of boxed an enough valley, with the borders of the Normandy and Picardy.

Service road

Pitch is located at the crossroads of two old major ways of communication, old the Trunk road 1 and the Trunk road 29. These two ways lost of their importance, since their function from now on is assumed by the French Autoroute A16 and the French Autoroute A29 (left).

The city is thus easily accessible, without undergoing the harmful effects of the traffic which she knew formerly.

It has the Gare of Pitch, on radial the SNCF connecting Rouen to Amiens network.

Inheritance, places and monuments

  • the Church of the priory Saint-Denis , of the 16th century, is of Gothic style blazing, with the base of its bell-tower dating from the 12th century. It is about the old vault of the castle, become parish church. The interior of the church has 45 keystones with pendentive carved.
  • Just beside the church, is a military cemetery (tombs of aviators of the the Commonwealth shot down during the combat of the Second world war).
