The Pisistratides (in Greek old Πεισιστρατίδαι / Peisistratidai ) is the descendants of the Tyran of Athens, Pisistrate (fine of sixth century BC).
With the restricted direction, the term indicates two wire of this one, Hippias and Hipparque, which jointly inherits the government Athens with died of their father in 527.
Hipparque, Patron and guard of arts, have only one share symbolic system of the capacity. He is assassinated in 514 by the Tyrannoctones, Harmodios and Aristogiton. Hippias remains with the capacity but makes its tyranny increasingly hard. The same year, Sparte intervenes with the call of the Alcméonides, which had been exiled by Pisistrate. The intervention, carried out by Cléomène I {{er}}, leads to the retirement of Hippias on the Acropole and to the capture of his/her children by the troops Spartans. Hippias must go and leave the Greece, putting thus fine at the reign of Pisistratides.
Tyranny was one period great work:
