Piscia di Gallo

The cascades of Piscia di Gallo (or Piscia di Gallu ) is located in the area of Zonza, in Corse-du-Sud.

The access is done by a path since a carpark installed with a little less than one kilometer of the Barrage of Ospélade. This path crosses a ford, to a few hundred meters of the carpark, before emerging in a landscape released to a little further overhang the torrent which feeds the fall.

The water fall is rather spectacular since it has a 70 meters height. To reach the few points allowing, by the top, a sight of the cascade does not present any difficulty, the more so as one profits from a beaconing. It is not the same to discover the foot of it:

  • the beaconing does not exist in the very stiff descent, which one needs effecter among the trees clinging to the rocks possibly slipping, and with the embarrassment of the branches possibly retaining the backpack.
  • the course is done according to the inspiration of the hiker, who has several alternatives, a little on the right or on the left, a little easier or requiring the assistance of the hands obligatorily.
