Piratini
Piratini is a city of the Brésil.
History
Piratini or Piratinin, denomination first which, in the language Tupi-guarani meant " fish bruyant" , saw its installation beginning in 1789 with the arrival from four families originating in the Archipel in the the Azores.
The first inhabitants settled on their arrival with the place known as Capão Grande C Piratini and founded a Chapelle in the honor of Notre Dame of the Design which, since then, is the owner of the city.
On the political scene of the country, Piratini became famous during the Révolution Farroupilha. In 1835, the city was the seat of the capital of the new Farroupilha Republic. To have been the Capital of the Republic Rio Grandense, Piratini is identified like the other heart of the Rio Grande C Sul. For all the State its name is always present, until that of the seat of the local government, the Palais Piratini.
In addition to the first inhabitants of Portuguese origin , other ethnos groups form part of the population today, like the German and the Italian .
