Pirates of the Caribbean, the secrecy of the cursed trunk

the Secrecy of the Cursed Trunk ( Dead Man' S Chest ) is a American Film of Gore Verbinski left the August 2nd 2006 in France. It constitutes the second and central shutter of the trilogy '' Pirates of the Caribbean '' and consequently is the continuation of the Curse of Black Pearl (2003) and the prolog of Until the End of the World (2007).

Synopsis

The Jack Sparrow captain is of return… to well worse of all face what he knew!

Removed from the curse of Black Pearl, it however remains under the blow of a terrible threat: Jack has a debt of one 100 years duration old blood towards legendary Davy Jones, lord depths and captain of the Dutch stealing, the ghost ship from which no ship cannot escape…

If Jack does not find the means of breaking this infernal pact, Jones will seize his heart, and it will be dedicated to an eternity of damnation and constraint… Involving once more his/her friends, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, in its mishaps, Jack all will try to leave itself this nightmare.

On its side, the pitiless hunter of pirates Lord Cutler Beckett was sworn to find a trunk which, according to the legend, allows that which has it to control like Davy Jones, a legendary monster, the Kraken on which Jones seems dependant. Beckett intends well to use this immense capacity to remove the Caribbean from all the pirates, then the oceans…

For Jack Sparrow and her friends, it is a new race against the clock which starts, but they do not have any idea of the extent of the tests which await them this time…

Anecdotes

  • the English title Dead Man' S Chest is a Pun on one of the crucial points of the Film: the Trunk pertaining to Davy Jones. " Chest" in English has two principal significances:
the Cœur of Davy Jones is locked up not in its Poitrail but in the Coffre from where the possibility of controlling it. As in French, the word " Trunk " can indicate a container and the chest.
  • Dead' S Man Chest is also the title of old a Chanson " Fifteen men one has dead man' S chest, yo Ho Ho and has bottle off rum " (which exists in French under the name of Fifteen Sailors : " Fifteen sailors, on the sideboard of death, yop the hou, a rum bottle… " ) that one can hear at the beginning of the Film, sung by Joshamee Gibbs. This Chanson also appears in the Island with the Treasury of Robert Louis Stevenson, but as in the eighteenth album of Tintin , the Secrecy of the Unicorn , during the account as Archibald Haddock makes of sound Ancêtre.
  • the kraken answers the orders of Davy Jones. He devours marine and ships using his gargantuesques tentacles of approximately 50 meters length, and that which continues carries the Black Marque - in fact the captain Jack Sparrow, hero of film incarnated by Johnny Depp.
