Pipils

The Pipils populated the El Salvador (which they called Cuzcatlan ) in the west of the Lempa river, before the arrival of the Spanish Conquistador S. They were organized in small kingdoms like Izalco, Apanecatl, Apastepetl, Ixtepetl, Guacotecti and especially Cuzcatlan which ends up giving its name to the country. Their language was the Nahuatl.

These kingdoms were often made the war. In spite of that the trade was very developed and used the Fève of cocoa like currency. The kingdoms were organized in communities or calpullis.

The company pipile was a martial company directed by kings elected by the warriors. The warriors and the priests were named pipiltun (noble). The other groups were the poshtecas (commercial), which could also serve spies, the amautecas (craftsmen), the macehualtin (plébéens) and the slaves.

The pipils believed in the Nahual, “the animal guardian angel” of each man.

Like the majority of the people of America précolombienne, they were unaware of the Fer or the Roue. The majority of the tools were out of stone like the axes, the knives or the arrowheads. They manufactured textile starting from Coton, of fiber of palm, Bambou or Sisal (fiber of sisal plant).

Food was containing Maïs, of Haricot S, roots, Ayote S (species of water-bottle), of Cacao and Fruit S.
