Pipaix

Pipaix is a section of the common Belgian of Leuze-in-Hainaut located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

Hamlets

Pipaix counts five hamlets: Twine, the Mining cottage (of in Top), Ghyssegnies, Keeps and Orquennois. With the Middle Ages the territories of Ghyssegnies, Twine and Pipaix, were grounds known as frank or free. Historically these grounds depended indirectly on the Comté of Flanders, no matter what they were wedged in the Comté of Hainaut. Certain forms of tax exemption on the produced and sold goods rose from this situation, and it is only at the 18th century that these privileges were abolished.
