Piotr Włostowic (v. 1080 - 1153) was large a very rich Magnat of Silesia, Palatin and national hero, profiting from the support of the Église and a great consideration abroad.
In 1117, it is named palatine of Silesia by Boleslas III Stop- theChest, to succeed Skarbimir which had revolted. With died of Boleslas, it continues to control Silesia for the account of Ladislas II the Outlaw.
In 1145, Ladislas II the Outlaw seeks to intimidate the tycoons and to eliminate most hostile. It makes burst the eyes of Piotr Włostowic, shown collusion with the young brothers of Ladislas, and condemns it to the banishment. Piotr Włostowic must be exiled in the Rus' of Kiev. In 1146, when Ladislas loses its throne, it returns to Silesia and finds its title of palatine hands of Boleslas IV Curly the (towards 1150).
It will remain in the history to have founded many church S in Silesia and to have inspired by many writers.
