Piotr Semiénovitch Kovats was a fighter pilot and Soviet As of the Second world war, decorated, on a purely posthumous basis, about Héros of the Soviet Union.
Career
Born in 1913 with Khmelnitskii , in Ukraine, it engaged dand the Red Army in 1934, before joining the military college of the Air of Odessa which it left graduate in 1936. In June - September 1939 it took share with the engagements against the Japanese at the time of the Bataille of Halhin Gol, participation for which it was seen decreeing the Ordre of the Red Flag.Promoted with the rank of kapitan (= Captain) in June 1941, shortly after the invasion allemane of the the USSR, it was used then for the 129.IAP (= regiment of air hunting), equipped with hunters LaGG-3 receiving the command of the one of its escadrilles in July according to. At August 20th, 1941, it was already titular of 4 victories approved and had carried out not less 75 missions of combat in less than 2 months. The following day, August 21st, 1941, it was to still carry out 3 new missions, cutting down 1 enemy apparatus at the time of the second and 2 twin-engine hunters Bf.110, at the time of the third, during which it was in its shot down and killed turn, meadows of Poletitsa.
