Pink TV is a French Television channel with toll which targets a homosexual public or “Gay - friendly”. This chain proposes programming varied with films, the documentary ones, talk shows, debates, series, a literary emission, concerts as well as a film X selection certain days of the week as from midnight. Pink TV started to emit the October 25th 2004. It is available - in option for the moment - on the majority of the cable networks and bouquets French satellite.
The March 12th 2007, SCUMS accepted the project of Pink TV which consists in separating the antenna into two: the day usual programs (cultural, of entertainment and information expressing the homosexual culture and lifestyles) and to leave midnight a service which will diffuse pornographic programs. However, the concretization of this transformation is suspended on the recapitalisation of the chain. Pascal Houzelot, chairman of the chain, indicated that if this capital growth could not be concluded favorably, Pink TV could cease emitting. Indeed, it misses 1 more million euros which were to be put on the table by TF1 and Canal+. While waiting, Pink TV did not change a format; its current grid, made up from now on only of repeat broadcasts, is a grid of survival.
From the September 4th, 2007, Pink TV emits in light only two hours per day (of 22:00 at midnight). Then into encrypted until 5:00 of the morning with a paying offer (baptized PinX TV) only made up of films X. The objective being initially to ensure the safeguard of the company.
A financial agreement would have been found with the help of: 100000 € with the owner of the name so that the chain can keep its name.
