Pink Laurens

Pink Laurens , of his true name Pink Podwojny , is a Chanteuse (auteure, compositrice and interpret) French, born in 1953.

Biography

Pink Laurens is not twenty years old when it begins in song within the group Sandrose, in 1972. The formation, whose Rose is the official singer, gives in the progressive Rock French and will launch one album on the market. The members will separate at the end of one year and in some concerts given to Paris. Rose, who always bears her name of origin, decides to take the pseudonym of Pink Merryl, and launches in 1976 and 1977 a handle of 45 turns, without success. She then makes the meeting of the type-setter and musician Jean-Pierre Goussaud with which she falls in love, and the couple decides to work together. Goussaud which, with the wire of its career, will work with Nicole Croisille (" Garonne"), Fabienne Thibeault (" Heat humaine"), Dalida (" Confidences on the fréquence") and Celine Dion (" My dream of toujours") in particular, thus becomes the appointed type-setter of Pink Laurens (the name whom it will then take definitively in 1979), and almost all the musics of the singer will be signed by him. The first success of Rose on a music of Jean-Pierre is the song " Survivre" , launched in 1979.

The following year, in 1980, Pink Laurens has happiness to be selected by Robert Hossein to interpret on scene as on disc the role of Fantine in the musical tragedy the Poor wretches of Victor Hugo, whose texts are signed by Alain Boublil on musics of Claude-Michel Schönberg. It is not necessary any more so that the general public becomes acquainted with this powerful and single voice in the world of the French song. After more than one year to be found in the skin of Fantine, Rose wants to look further into her career solo. Jean-Pierre and she thus work together to prepare the very first album of the singer. This last, which carries the title of " Unreasonable " , in 1982 is born. The success of the first extract, the famous song " Africa" , is immediate, and the title is sold to more than one million specimens. This first album contains also the following songs: " Conversation" , " The différence" , " The king fou" , " My père" , " Déraisonnable" and especially " The heart chagrin" who will be a good radiophonic success with the Quebec. As of the following year, in 1983, Rose record a second album which is announced by the songs " Vivre" , " Zodiacale" , " Do not fly away without moi" and especially " Yoko" granny; who, without equalizing the record of " Africa" , will be a good success. In request in the anglophone countries, Rose engraves for them in 1984 the microgroove " Africa - Voodoo Master" who comprises some original titles in addition to anglophone versions of successes " Africa" and " Yoko" granny;. The singer continues at this rate/rhythm with the songs " Dance to me " and " Cheyenne" , impetuses these in 1985.

In 1986, Pink Laurens joins great names to work on its album which appears this year. Jean-Pierre Goussaud sign obviously all musics, but the texts are written by large the Francis Cabrel (" When you pars"), by Yves Simon (" I was with go " , " Partir" , " Profession reporter" , " Night and Day"), like by Sylvain Lebel (" Cherche"), Marc Strawzynski (" I throw myself to the eau") and Yves Duteil (" Write your life on moi" , superb song which becomes the title of the album). Pink Laurens leaves itself his paper and his pencil to write " The nuit". The album contains many successes, and it consolidates the career of Rose as well to the Quebec as in Europe, and even to the the United States where the artist launches " American love" , the english language version of " When you pars". It benefits from its success to occur several evenings with the Olympia of Paris in 1986. The following year, in 1987, all goes for best for Rose who is a good success with the very touching song " Where do all those go which one likes? ". Unfortunately, it early made learn that his/her companion Jean-Pierre Goussaud is reached cancer… It stops all and decides to give up its career in order to remain near its spouse.

They are only three years later that Pink Laurens returns to his trade. Goussaud, in spite of its disease, indeed insisted to compose a last album with the pretty singer. It will be the best disc of Rose, most personal, more succeeded. Launched in 1990, the album " I will never lend " to you; have again the claw of Francis Cabrel (voice in the song " P' tit frère") like that of Jean-Jacques Goldman (" The absence"). If not, the texts of all the other songs are of Pink Laurens itself. Little time after the publication of the album, Jean-Pierre dies. Rose, devastated, supplements her engagements, goes to the Quebec for the promotion of a compilation which appears over there, then disappears from the show biz during four years. One finds it only once on disc, in 1994 whereas she sings in duet with Yves Duteil (on the album of this one entitled " Between them and moi") the song " Write your life on moi". It returns in 1995 with the album " Desire " who does not know success, and this in spite of excellent signed songs Louis Chedid and/or Jacques Cardona (" We it is fou" , " But where are the angels? " …). She writes itself, words and music, very the beautiful song " Jonathan from goes away this soir" , then withdraws itself again during several years. It is only in 2001 that one finds it on scene and disc thanks to François Valéry and its musical comedy " Shade of a géant". Since, it furrows the France to give concerts, and in 2006, a new album would be apparently in preparation. The return of Pink Laurens is awaited by a good number of its fans.
