Pineal Body
The pineal body or épiphyse is small a endocrine Gland conical, median, attached to the posterior part of the Third ventricle, located in the Cerveau. It secretes the Mélatonine (derivative of the Sérotonine secreted it by nervous fabrics), and plays by its intermediary a central role in the regulation of the biological Rythme.
At the Bird X, the pineal body is located right under the surface of the Crâne from where it collects the external luminous intensity and thus makes it possible to adjust the circadian Rythme animal.
With a more general approach, the Embryology and the comparative anatomy go until denouncing it like the Third eye fallen through of the Vertébré S , which is besides a true eye at some Lézard S and the Sphénodon.
Mythology
The pineal body was the last of the endocrine glands whose function was identified. That undoubtedly explains the speculations as well physiological as Métaphysique S which surrounded its presumedly central role in the Pensée because of its position in the Encéphale.Most famous of these theories of the French philosopher Rene Descartes is undoubtedly that which indicated pineal body like the “seat” of the heart. To justify this assumption, Descartes was based on the fact that the pineal body would have been the single body of the head not to be not combined, i.e. not appearing as pair of symmetrical bodies located on both sides a sagittal Plan. In addition in addition to its central position, the pineal body is just with the top of the Aqueduc of Sylvius whose Descartes thought that he guided the animal spirits which gave birth to the feelings in the heart by striking pineal body. Today, the histological studies showed that the pineal body is well a combined body but the two hemispheres which constitute it are almost amalgamated.
In the vedic Mythology of the Yoga, the pineal body is associated, sometimes with the Chakra Ajna or 3rd eye, sometimes in Sahasrara or will chakra crown, located at the top of cranium. In the majority of interpretations of the Discordianisme the pineal body is supposed to be used as body of communication with the goddess Eris, and is held to secrete DMT (Diméthyltryptamine), a substance Psychotrope Hallucinogène which would play a part in the Rêve S. the pineal body is sometimes also called “the third atrophied eye”. According to Paul Foster Puts, the pineal body is the “mountain” of the Bible where the communication with Very High is done: Brace receives the Tables of the Law “on the mountain”, from a point of view esoteric, this mountain would not be other than the seat of pineal body.
